VP Finance Job Description

The VP Finance will serve as a key member of the servicing segment’s finance leadership team. This leadership role will report directly to Head of Servicing Finance and will support the executive and servicing operations leadership team in driving, assessing and prioritizing the long-term strategic direction and growth. You will be expected to identify and realize opportunities to improve growth and profitability, formulate strategic plans to accomplish improvements, and drive teams to successful outcomes for the organization.

In this role, you will also be charged with managing servicing’s consolidated financial results, including being the point person for all management financial reporting and key performance indicators. In addition, you will directly manage servicing’s revenue, net interest income, master servicing, and non-operational expenses. This VP function will have growth potential to expand responsibility including operational expenses and will coordinate in close partnership with operations management, corporate management, corporate and originations finance teams, treasury, and accounting.

Role / Responsibilities

Leading the servicing finance team’s annual budgeting and monthly forecasting with a perspective of continual process improvement and refinement to provide the business the information needed to make critical timely decisions.

Leading a team of ~5 managers and analysts in the areas of revenue, net interest income, master servicing, and reporting.

Responsible for overseeing the monthly and quarterly production of operational and managerial reporting for actuals, budget, forecast, and KPIs.

Responsible for all financial planning (short-term and long-term) and analysis operations including financial controls (budgets), costs and general accounting.

Plays a critical leadership role in providing key financial insight that helps company’s strategic decision, financial forecasts and operating plans.

Oversee the preparation and analysis of the annual operating plans and earnings projections for servicing operations.

Gather research and analyze data to drive diagnostic rigor in developing actionable solutions and making decisions.

Partner with team leadership on multiple concurrent projects for top leaders of the company.

Prepare analysis, commentary and presentation material for the monthly and quarterly business and financial review meetings.

Support quarterly and annual external GAAP reporting, including MD&A and support information.

Education / Experience Requirement

Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field is preferred. MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus.

8+ years of increasingly progressive financial experience with an outstanding track record in a financial services company/ big 4 accounting firm/ consultancy services firm, mortgage company experience a plus.

Experience leading teams of at least 3-5 financial professionals to successful outcomes.

Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner.

Ability to work independently with minimal oversight or junior support.

Strong personal initiative and good judgment; desire to succeed in a demanding environment.

Comfortable working under demanding deadlines and producing key senior-executive deliverables.

Proficiency in strategic and financial planning.

Proficiency in analyzing accounting and finance records, including General Ledgers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, and FP&A systems (i.e. TM1, Essebase, Adaptive).

Travel Information:

Although this role is primarily remote, you will require the ability to travel to our Dallas corporate headquarters at least one week per month based on the needs of the business.
